Latest JetStream Release With Support For AutoCAD & SolidWorks 2006

Sheffield, UK, 1st September 2005: NavisWorks Ltd., developers of interactive viewing technology and the leading 3D computer aided design review solution today announced the latest NavisWorks JetStream release. Version 4.2 introduces full AutoCAD 2006, Solid Edge 17 and SolidWorks 2006 support and as ever, the new release also includes many enhancements.

With this new version NavisWorks again deliver the most effective solution for both 3D CAD and non-CAD users who wish to conveniently share and review design data. NavisWorks are long standing Autodesk Developer Network members and this latest release employs RealDWG [Replacing ObjectDBX] technology to support AutoCAD 2006 offering the highest degree of compatibility possible with .dwg files, without any need for the original authoring design software. Together with support for SolidWorks 2006 and Solid Edge 17 version 4.2 of NavisWorks JetStream maintains our unrivalled interoperability with the most popular 3D file formats and position as the best way of uniting competing design data and distributing the full project for review.

Improved TimeLiner Project Support

Version 4.2 enhances support in TimeLiner for project software with user columns now available for links from Asta 8 and support for Primavera P3 milestones [tasks without duration].

JetStreamĀ On A Web Page

In response to significant interest in puttingĀ JetStream on a web page we have enhanced the ActiveX control required to do this so that, consistent with Freedom and Roamer, textures published with the .nwd file can be viewed.

Further Enhancements

  • To enable smaller file sizes version 4.2 introduces the option to output Clash Reports without images.
  • Freedom now supports nested Viewpoints [Viewpoints contained within folders], and the Viewpoint limit has been raised from 200 to 10000.
  • Publishing .nwd review files with version 4.2 will not interrupt working in the .nwf which references the 3D CAD files.
