Sheffield, UK, 21st April 2005: NavisWorks Ltd., developers of interactive viewing technology and the leading 3D computer aided design review solution are proud to announce that they have won a prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise. The award is in the International Trade category in recognition of the remarkable achievement that exports of our computer software have virtually doubled in the past three years.
With these awards Her Majesty the Queen recognises British companies that are making an outstanding contribution to the domestic and global economy. To win the Queen's Award, NavisWorks demonstrated substantial growth in overseas earnings and commercial success that was considered outstanding. This coveted commercial prize puts NavisWorks among the most successful UK businesses and is a considerable achievement for a company that only commenced trading in 2001. NavisWorks is a dynamic, innovative and growing company that develops software in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The software creates value and delivers competitive advantage throughout the design - construct - manage lifecycle of buildings and plant and is now sold worldwide to some 30 countries in all the major economies.
Achieving success has been a challenge and we are thus delighted to receive this award in recognition of our efforts. In the UK, NavisWorks continues to be used to great effect on Terminal 5 project at Heathrow where Andy Mannington, BAA T5 Production Support Manager, described the software as "crucial to everything we do". In Europe, Audi have recognised NavisWorks as the best solution for them as revealed by Juergen Hoffmann, "We are proud to announce that AUDI AG in Ingolstadt, Germany, has selected NavisWorks as the major Design Review solution in factory planning following a competitive benchmark. NavisWorks is currently being used in both Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm as well as in AUDI Hungary. The benchmark scored NavisWorks very highly as the easiest application to use with the widest range of features for reviewing and co-ordinating car factory design." In the USA, Mieczyslaw Boryslawski is on record as an avid NavisWorks user who is using the application on the groundbreaking Letterman Digital Arts Centre project for George Lucas, where over $10M has been saved by using the "Smart Virtual Construction Model."
The award is formally conferred to NavisWorks by a Grant of Appointment that is symbolised by a commemorative presentational item depicting the award emblem. NavisWorks will be presented with the award by The Queens local representative Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant of the county at a ceremony in Sheffield.
